Key West Barracuda Fishing

In some circles catching a barracuda is a lot like riding a moped.. both fun… but… you know the rest.

Barracudas on Plug at Dream Catcher Charters

Here at Dream Catcher Charters we LOVE barracuda fishing. Once our anglers have put all the lasting energy they had from being downtown last night into a tarpon first thing in the morning… They look at us and say.. Hey Capt… is there anything a little easier to catch and more of?

Enter the Great Barracuda. Fast, powerful, full of teeth and extremely pissed off. They hunt constantly and always in the mood for a fight. The fight is aerobatic and entertaining with hard pulls, blistering runs and hug leaps into the air. Totally unpredictable.

Little known fact… did you know that the great barracuda is the number one fish to be mounted in Key West?

This fish was caught on 10lb test Daiwa reel and Key Largo Rod using a MirroLure Lumo series artificial plug with Calcutta braid.

Barracuda fishing can be fun for all ages we can set the size of the fish to the anglers. Fish over 36 inches are not uncommon. In a four hour trip 5 to 25 fish can be caught, each one different from the other and they all get released.
