Tarpon Fishing

Fishing for Tarpon in March might be hit or miss. This angler obviously Hit with Capt. Tommy at Dream Catcher Charters.

February 29 2016 – Leap Day… March is coming to be a typical setting here fishing in Key West. Typically a windier month and this month does not look to disappoint.

In the past week we have seen some tarpon showing up on the South Easterly breezes that have been ushering in some humid higher early spring temps. On those winds, like a switch the tarpon are showing up and eating live baits very well. I am looking at the extended forecast for March which takes me out to about March 9th as I see it and I say that from the 5th – the 9th there should be a good chance of some fish laying around in the harbor and us having shots at them with our anglers here at Dream Catcher Charters.

I encourage everyone that is interested in fishing for tarpon in Key West with us to be reminded of one thing. This is just a prediction based off of my 20+ years of fishing for tarpon in Key West and the weather forecast. In other words.. Its not quite tarpon season yet but we will be catching them if we think there is a shot. Our tarpon fishing rates start at $425.00 for the half day for 2 persons.
