Big tarpon are showing up in Key West. Capt. Brian of Dream Catcher Charters posing with Micah from Atlanta and a beast caught tarpon fishing with us.

March 26th 2016 – Ok its official.. I am now calling it “Tarpon Fishing Season” here in Key West. Yes we have been catching many tarpon in the last few weeks but I am always leary about booking a fishing charter based on tarpon in the middle of March because the bite can be so unpredictable. MOST of our anglers have been very understanding, especially the ones who smashed a fish.

The weather has played a big roll in the tarpon fishing here in fishing in Key West till this week. Now I think the tarpon are here to stay. With seasonably warmer conditions throughout the extended forecast for Key West I can see the first two weeks of April really holding some spectacular days on the water for our tarpon fin-attics.

We have been seeing many tarpon in the 100+ range with the averages being in the 80s . SO far our water quality has not been affected by the Lake Okechobee run off issues they are seeing on the West Coast of Florida, nor do we anticipate any issues with that at all in the future. Its Game on as usual..

Although our schedules are pretty tight with folks fishing with us we do still have a little availability hit or miss in April.
