February 3 2017 – With absolutely amazing weather here in Key West the Deep Sea fishing has been a stellar way to get out and enjoy your day fishing here in Key West. The new moon just passed this week really working the tides inshore and near the reef. Air and Water temps are a little above normal and expected to continue for the forecast period with light to steady breezes from the NE to SE.

Trolling the reef anglers can expect a good bit of action from the kingfish that just showed up. Kingfish ranging in size from 15 – 35 lbs. We call them “smokers” for two reasons. 1. they really smoke the reel when hooked up and 2. they are great tasting when smoked.

On the color change anglers can expect sailfish along the edges as they push bait in and out of the water change. Capt. Joe on board the Key West Charter Boat Triple Time was 6 for 6 on sailfish just yesterday. The sailfish bite should be good for us here deep sea fishing in Key West right on through the End of April.

Deep sea fishing during the winter also bring us a great bite on blackfin tunas. Capt. Joe is saying the bite has been in the afternoon this week and very strong.
