Deep Sea Blue Water Turns On!

Wahoo

Key West Wahoo. Also known as Wee Hoo as this one is considered a little small.

February 25th 2013 Today marks the full moon of February. Forgetting about the last report things in the blue water suddenly turned on and went hot today for Capt. Rob on board the Dream Catcher Charters Yellowfin Center Console “Intense”

With one angler and a whole lot of time Capt. Rob went fishing where few will run to in search for the man in the blue suit (Blue Marlin). Yesterday one of the boats from the Key West fleet happened upon a nice blue marlin on the full moon bite.

In their search Rob and Bill ran across a nice selection of fish. The blue water fishing gods were happy. Black fin tuna to start off with and then about 7 or 10 gaffer sized dolphin or Mahi Mahi,  moving out toward the wall Capt Rob then put a wahoo in the boat.

Sweet day of fishing and all the fish were released for the exception of the wahoo..

Key West Flats Fishing

Flats Fishing Key West

It’s all good right now. Inshore, Offshore whatever you wish to do with your day on the waters here out of Key West.

On the flats is it flat calm conditions that continue to prevail this week here in Key West and the fishing is awesome.
Tailing conditions for permit and bonefish. Its easy to see the pushes of tarpon on the flats as they make their way along during the migration. Redfish are being found on the edges and in the mangroves.. Fun times to be had with some very large barracudas on the flats ready to eat the artificial plug tossed to them.
