July brings the heat along with the fish.

Key West fishing report for the last week of July.

Joe and John Berlin catching permit with Capt. Steven Lamp of Dream Catcher Charters

Starting with our wreck and bottom fishing trips, Dream Catcher Charters has had tight lines fishing the shallow water wrecks in the Marquesas Keys for huge permit, barracuda, spanish mackerel, and bonito. From there Capt. Steven headed out west towards the Dry Tortugas. The fishing out there was “red” hot with some fantastic sized mutton snappers and groupers that filled the dinner table with tons filets. Here at Dream Catchers we offer a 10 hour hardcore Dry Tortugas fising charter which is not suited for the faint of heart. Our Anglers arms where about to fall off. Steven put these two through a boot camp of catching fish. It was exhausting just watching these two pull in groupers and snappers one after another.

Switching gears to our Backcountry and Flats Fishing Charters down here in Key West. These trips are still our most popular charters and are great for smaller groups of 2-4 people. Backcountry and Flats fishing is also the most affordable way to get a professional guide to help you land fish. Right now our boys here at Dream Catcher Charters are stalking the shallow waters for elusive permit and bonefish. Getting up on the flat is very exciting and there is nothing like sight casting a trophy fish in just inches of water. If your looking for a laid-back day on the water maybe a family fun fishing or rod bending charter would suit you best. Target shallow water monsters like big sharks that are easy to get into but pull hard enough to really get your blood pumping. From there target species like barracuda and jack crevalle’s and keep your lines tight throughout your Key West Charter.

That’s all I have for you this week!
