Key West Wreck and Reef Fishing January 31

Key West Cobia

Cobia Fishing in Key West

The wrecks are crankin.. Yup I said crankin.

With over 12 cobia to the boat yesterday from 3 different spots we had a blast catching fish with Eric and Capt. Matt Bellinger of Bamboo charters. Capt. Matt came down from Islamorada to join myself and Capt. Kelso with our friend Eric for some cobia fun and excitment.

We killed two fish for dinners at about 24 and 27 lbs and released many more, some even larger, Then there were the ones that just got away. What fun…. While we were cobia fishing I was tending to our bait selection tossing a jigg for the gazillions of blue runners in the neighborhood to later take them to the Gladiator arena of the reef to test their fate against some of the biggest kingfish I have ever seen.

Were were unlucky getting some of the kingfish slobs to the boat due to aggressive sharks but none the less we had some fun fighting them.

Days like this are plenty right now and a great reason to get out with us here at Dream Catcher Charters. We have shallow wrecks to fish for Huge barracudas, permit, cobia and more. Then if it is nice we will run to the reef and watch the Gladiators go at it with the live blue runners against the Kingfish… Whumph….

Our wreck and reef boat is a 32 ft yellowfin center console powered by twin 300 verados made by Mercury Marine.

Check us out.. we are taking fishing to the next level..
