Tarpon – In February?

Key West Tarpon Fishing Report

Tarpon Jump Jumping Tarpon Key West

February 3 2018 – Key West Fishing is back in the warm side of things for this winter being so cold last month. I was studying the computer models and it looks like February will be a warm month for us here in Key West.. Therefore, its gonna be —- Tarpon Fishing Time…..

With the warmer weather, Easterly winds and the massive amount of bait in the Florida Keys right now our tarpon fishing is looking like it will be very good for February. I am looking forward to next week as this monster moon wains off and we get some warmer water temps to play with and the Gulf of Mexico Tarpon move back in to feed. My guess is that we will be in the fish by Monday if not tomorrow. The fish we typically see this time of the year are in the 60 – 140 lb range.. big ones. They lay low in the dirtier waters and eat live bait really well..

For those that dont know.. February is not a great time for tarpon fishing here in Key West – Typically. Seems this year the fish have only left us for the colder weather and quickly returned. Now, that said.. We still will not book a trip to go fishing with us calling it a ” Tarpon Fishing Charter” in the month of February. But I will say that this February you will have a better chance than the others of catching one with me or the guys here at Dream Catcher Charters.. Key West Tarpon Fishing specialists..
