Fishing Thanksgiving Weekend In Key West

Permit Fishing Key West

Hi Folks welcome to another installment of the Key West fishing report

There is nothing but great stuff happening here at Dream Catcher Charters. The weather tomorrow looks stellar! Me and the boys are all booked up here to go out and show folks a great time on the waters off of Key West.

Myself I will be on my 32′ Yellowfin Center Console “Intense” with a  group of four headed to Jurasic Park and parts unknown looking for some rod bending excitement of Grouper, Snappers, Mackeral and some big jacks. Dinner and a show I call it. Or as it is booked… The Offshore All In Wonder signature trip here at Dream Catcher Charters.

Capt Kelso has his trips all laid out for him through the weekend and he will be a busy man. he will be leading the inshore group here at Dream Catchers all the boys will be fishing 4 and 6 hour adventures in the backcountry. Tomorrow (wednesday) I see it as a permit day with the few last stragglers of bonefish on the flats before the next big front. The permit fishing on the flats has been stellar. We have been seeing many fish tailing and pushing along making pretty easy shots for our anglers. Bonefish have been holding on to this late fall with somewhat summer like conditions. Water temps on the flats have been around the 80 degree mark and that is PERFECT for the grey ghost of the flats.

During the windy portions on friday, saturday and sunday the fun does not stop in the backcountry as we keep things hot with some rod bending on big jacks, cudas sharks and snappers. Winds on Friday are supposed to come up to 20 ++ through tuesday. Grrrr.. windy November, the windiest month of the year.. BUT not to fret, our trout fishing really kicks into high gear in the wind and there are plenty of fish to be had.

Offshore, the reports are pouring in on dolphin (mahi Mahi) everywhere. Speaking to mate Dave Wylie on the Triple Time they have  been slaying the 10 and 20 lb dinner sized dolphin on a regular basis.. He expects sail fishing to improve in the winds this weekend, so get ready..

We still have some slots open for this thanksgiving day weekend.. Give us a call for inshore offshore and deep sea fishing that will certainly entertain and feed you. Our office number is 1-888-362-3474. Also .. Check out Island Genns blog at TheKeyWester.comfor up to the minute information about Key West.
