April 15th 2013 – Tarpon fishing report and forecast from Dream Catcher Charters.

Tarpon Last Week

We went through a lull last week over the new moon. We started taking it personally as the fish were just not being cooperative.. NOW>. don’t discount a new moon for tarpon fishing, its not always like that.. But toward the later part of the week things picked back up to pace and we were back in the fish with true style. Our half days in the afternoon trips were producing epic numbers on the out going tides with 9 and 10 fish hooked on these trips.
The last day or so things have been very good for both morning and afternoon bites..

Water temps in the low 80’s

Currently as of today.

The tarpon are all over the place and not leaving till after July. I expect them to hit the flats soon and in some areas we are finding them laid up in the shallows already and eating very well on fly, crab or a lightly presented artificial. The DOA shrimp is a great choice for spin fishing and the different colored Toad patterns are great for fly.. I like the brown ones..

Lets get out there.. Looking for a tarpon fishing guide? Call us. We do this.. Some morning and many afternoon slots are available. We use nothing but the best tackle from Daiwa and Owner..

Call us… For up to the minute..
