Deep Sea Fishing Report

Our Very Own Island Genn With A Nice Dolphin

November 3rd 2013 – Deep Sea fishing report for Key West has sailfish and dolphin in it, the forecast has tunas and wahoo.  November North winds have shown up early with the first of our Northerly weather patterns coming through in the last week of October. Good or bad depends how you look at it. As professionals on the water we like the change, it makes for great fishing.

The last few days have been very calm preceded before that by some good ENE winds that stirred things up really well. The “Linda D” Captained by Capt. Billy Wickers reported from yesterday (Saturday Nov 2) a nice ratio of hookups on the early season sailfish. Along with that they also got into some dolphin as well. Last week during the blows many of the boats in our Key West fishing fleet were reporting multiple hook ups on sailfish and some nice gaffer dolphin.

For the forecast I was Speaking with Capt. Rob Harris of the sport fishing boat “Easy Rider” here in Key West, he said he felt the sailfish thing was going to get better and then sprinkle in some blackfin tuna. We have a ton of bait in town for the tunas to start crushing. Capt. Rob also mentioned that the next full moon will produce some shots at killer wahoo. In his words “The Wahoo bite will be On!” November is a great time for wahoo with the transitions of the weather patterns switching from Southerly to Northerly after the end of Hurricane Season, during the full moon of November and December is the time.

The weather is what it is. Winds will continue to be out of the North and North East all through the month here. Keep in mind though.. For a good bite sometimes the winds will be your best ticket to a great day of of Deep Sea fishing here in Key West. Look for your larger sport fishing boats like the Easy RiderLinda DDouble Down and  the Triple Time.

So in the wrap up… we have sailfish, wahoo and dolphin with the promise of November tunas deep sea fishing here in Key West.. Winds will be up and so will the seas. good news is you dont have to go far to be rewarded..
