A fun Wahoo caught deep sea fishing South of Key West with Gotta Go Capt. Rob Harris.

June 23rd 2016- You should have been here yesterday. That old joke, we all hate it when we hear it especially when it comes to our day of fishing with any Key West Fishing Deep Sea fishing guide. But, thats the way it goes. June has proven itself to be the hot and cold of the deep sea fishing months.

With consistent weather here in Key West all of our deep sea fishing charters are able to get off the dock and have great days of trolling the blue waters of the Gulf Stream. Finding the concentrations of the dolphin and wahoo or even the Man In The Blue Suit AKA Blue Marlin has been a community effort. Key West is a pretty tight fishing community especially when you are talking about the deep sea boats. They keep in touch with each other all day long. Mostly discussing politics but when one of them finds some fish they make sure the rest of the fleet has a shot at them too.

The dolphin have been scattered from as shallow as 400 ft of water out to 2200 ft with the reports we are getting here from our fleet of Key West Deep Sea Fishing boats. Last week Capt. Brice on the Double Down out of Key West managed to release two blue marline over the full moon bite. Way to go team, thats a rare feat here in Key West. Other than that the wahoo are around with sizes being reported of 8-35 lbs on the troll.

As always in the summer we recommend that folks book at least a 6 hour trip for deep sea fishing Key West. Due to the potentially long runs the boats have to make to find fish this will certainly help boost your odds for the day you have booked on the water.

Coming up in late June and into July the dolphin fishing should get better in numbers but not so much in size. Summer dolphin tend to be schoolies and a little smaller but plenty of them for a nice cooler full of fresh fish and LOADS of fun catching them. Look for Blue Marlin on the full moon dates and wahoo can strike at any time out there on the troll. Most of all.. Stay hydrated and make sure your boat has some shade, its freaking hot out there.

Booking a deep sea fishing charter is easy. Just call our office, we will go over all the options for you and get you set up on a boat that will be the best suited for you, your group and your budget. Remember, the more stuff you want out of your deep sea fishing boat, the more they cost. We have trips starting at $700.00 for 6 persons or less.
