Some young lobster mobsters that went out with us here at Dream Catcher Charters

August 3rd 2016 – Sportsman season has come and gone and it was a huge success. Now we look forward toward the opening of the regular season on August the 6th with good promise of a great lobster season.

The weather has been just perfect here in Key West for lobstering. The water has been clear and as calm as you want to not have it 98 degrees and unbearably hot. Rains moving through the area are quick and very wet but no hurricanes or tropical systems getting in the way for the opening day of regular lobster season.

Over sportsman season last week – (Always held on the last Wednesday and Thursday of the month for July) here at Dream Catcher Charters we had a great number of people going out to catch a lobster and have a lot of fun with our captains on our Key West Lobstering trips. Catches were good and people seemed to be getting a hang of it quickly making sure they went home with some tails…

We generally  try and dive in less than 10 ft of water for our lobster harvesters to make it to the bottom. Lots of folks think 10 ft is nothing until they try and catch a very weary lobster while they are down there.

Going into the regular season we will still be offering 4 hour lobster charters to take folks out there to catch a limit. Although we do not promise lobsters we will certainly take you to the spots that should have them, offer you all the instruction you can take and the tools to catch them. We can handle parties of up to 6 persons, and every person on board (excluding our captains) can participate in the harvest. Thats about 18 lobsters for 6 persons.

With opening season starting on the 6th We have reserved most of our dates for lobstering for there 6th and 7th but we start to lighten up in our schedule around the 8th. For you late comers to the Lobsters Early September can also be very good for lobsters.

NOTE: We do not offer spear fishing or SCUBA on our lobster trips..

Give us a Call and We will set you up..
