Tarpon Fishing Slow But Not Gone
Tarpon Fishing Report For Key West Florida
November 9th 2017 – This time of the year is tough for tarpon fishing. A cold water sensitive fish in a time of the year where the water temps can go from 82 to 68 over night where the tarpon like to hang out. So I am extra cautious about putting out there a tarpon fishing report that reflects how things were last week, not having a crystal ball of how things will go next week in the way of cold fronts and chilly water. That said…… The tarpon are still here and the anglers that go out with my fishing guides here at Dream Catcher Charters are getting shots at catching them.

Check Out Our Bay Boats.. Yellowfin 24 Carbon Elite. Powered by Mercury Racing 400r. My personal choice for bay boat.
These tarpon we are targeting right now on our backcountry fishing charters are mostly fish that are in the 20 – 60 lb range (our favorites by the way). They are laying up in the cuts and channels that slice their way through the flats and among the islands of the backcountry here out of Key West just 10 minutes from our dock.
In the even that an angler books a “tarpon fishing” charter with us and a cold front pushes through cooling off our waters we then change gears and go after other species of fish that we know will be available. We will not book a “tarpon Fishing” charter this time of the year and cancel it if we think it may be tough to catch one seeing as it is not officially tarpon season.
We offer 4, 6, and 8 hour trips out to the backcountry on board our state of the art bay boats daily.

Some of the tools we use for tarpon fishing Key West that we feel are very consistent with winning.
1. Hogy Lures.. Its easy. just get them and try it
2. Owner Hooks. 20 years now and never dissapointed
3. Boga Grip. A solid (expensive) lipping tool that will last a lifetime and help you release fish.
