October Tarpon Fishing Report

October tarpon fishing is a surprise

Tarpon Fishing

October 13th 2018 –  Moderate conditions are prevailing here for Key West fishing. Normal winds and temperatures are on schedule right through our Halloween month and there are some tarpon around that still think its May.

The Key West tarpon fishing report for October has some larger tarpon still around in some of the channels in some areas consistently and smaller baby / juvenile tarpon along the edges of the trees looking for a snack. An early morning thing for us here at Dream Catcher Charters as the tarpon get a little shy later in the day.

Typically tarpon of any size do not stick around this late in the fall,  but, our anglers that get that golden shot are loving it. We love to take folks fishing October but we strongly advise the tarpon fishing is hit or miss, not something we will sell a fishing charter on. We have been very busty for October with a good number of trips keeping our guys in the loop fishing every day and keeping track of the tarpon fishing trends and where the fish are moving around to.

I suspect, as usual that the last of our tarpon fishing will be the first cold front of November.
