As most of the nation knows our winter this year is very mild. We have had some days in the 80′ and the water temps have not plummeted like they usually do this time of the year. This kind of winter here in Key West offers us the opportunity to fish our winter and summer species and this week we got it done with a nice mix of fish.

Capt Kyle Kelso was out with his angler to catch  few fish and just have fun managed to catch this nice sized winter bonefish on a soft bait from MirroLure called a provoker. Seems that not only the bonefish like it but we have also caught the heck out of everything else as
well. Trout, Ladyfish, Pompano and even Redfish. I have never been a HUGE fan of Soft baits here in Key West at Dream Catchers but these Provokers from MirroLure really work!
We have been seeing a few tarpon around in the backcountry as expected. These fish come in from out in the Gulf to feed on our abundant supply of bait during the warmer days. The tarpon this time of the year will not be small and the one Kyle Walsh jumped and leadered yesterday was not exception. This fish was over 100 lbs. Its not tarpon time just yet.. BUT>> He was fishing for sharks with a lady fish as a bait and his angler lucked out. Nice work, way to make a day more interesting.
