Wreck Reef and Deep Sea Fishing Key West
April 15th 2013 – The winds are variable and the reef is calling..
This time of the year we usually get some awesome fishing conditions on, around and outside the reef.. Today is flat calm and perfect tomorrow might be breezy. This time of the year you have to take the conditions as they come and make do.
Blue Water Deep Sea
Reports of wahoo, dolphin and sailfish are scattered around the Key West area. Fun times are being had offshore with the deep sea boats trolling for pelagics and keeping rods bent with great times and lots of smiles. Late April is always a good time for big dolphin and sailfish. Dont hesitate to book your big boat for an offshore adventure.
On the Reef
The current has been a bit touchy, but the yellowtail, mutton snapper and grouper bite has been great. Grouper is still out of season in the South Atlantic (off of Key West) but we are still able to get some nice filets for dinner with the yellowtail snappers and mutton snappers. A nice half day in the morning or afternoon is a great time for this and loads of fun. 4 hours is all you need and our 4 hour trips start at 425.00 for 2 persons to catch snappers..
Out West To The Wrecks and Dry Tortugas..
Red grouper and Huge mutton snappers are the word out west. We had a trip over the weekend that yielded some epic sized mutton snappers as large as 17 lbs and plenty of them. Along with them we compounded on some red groupers in the Gulf Waters (in season) and made a great day of it. Trips to that area start at 750.00 plus fuel expenses..
