Put Some Meat In The Box Reef Fishing
December 13 2020 – Early December has started off with some great weather with cooler temps and a back to normal feel here in Key West getting our charter boats out to the reef for some exciting Key West reef fishing.
Key West Fishing Report
The last month of grouper season 2020 here in the South Atlantic off Key West has shown up well with our fishing charters coming in with catches of red grouper and the occasional black groupers. As good as that sounds the real treat has been the snapper fishing with nice sized mutton snapper and big yellowtail snappers being caught to color up the box with some tasty filets. The fishing conditions have been just right to get-er-done.

I love winter time reef fishing, the opportunities are amazing. With all the bait blasting about on the reef, it’s no wonder why the snappers are right under them waiting for a nice chunk to drift down after they have been ripped by a cero mackerel or kingfish. The circle of life out there on the reef right now is not a long ride for a bait fish in the winter.
Key West Fishing Forecast
Looking at the weather for the next week I see some fantastic opportunities to get offshore and chase the reef fishing dream. Calm conditions will prevail through the beginning of the week making perfect conditions to run out and catch some nice fish.

Here at Dream Catcher Charters we have a 36 ft Yellowfin center console that we use for our Key West reef fishing charters. We offer 4, 6, and 8 hour adventures to catch snapper, grouper, kingfish, cero mackerels, blackfin tunas and sailfish.
